Another Letter!

After MANY months of waiting we have finally received another letter from our precious sponsor child! She drew us pictures of hearts and flowers. And told us how her favorite season is Summer time, and how it was in the dry season right now.

She is having fun at the Compassion International School, and she would like us to pray for her family. It was very heart warming!

Mal-Nutrition What Does It Really Mean? (Part 1)

We hear the term "mal-nutrition" so many times it tends to pass over our heads. We always think of it as a bad thing, but what are the consequences of mal-nourishment? In order to find those we're going to find the top five most needed vitamins and what happens if we lack them.

Finding Joy In The Suffering

What is joy? Joy is a fruit of the spirit. Unlike happiness joy has eternal value. Happiness is a temporary thing, but joy is a gift from God!

It seems impossible to be joyful when you don't know when your next meal will come from, and your stomach feels like it's curling up into knots from starvation. When you go to the Operation Christmas Child workers and beg to have the giant box that they ship the shoe boxes in so you can have a little more shelter from the wind (true story). When your water source doubles up as your sewage disposal, and your children are lying in bed dying and there is nothing you can do about it.

That should paint you a picture of a horrible life that is hopeless, and full of sorrow. For some that may be true, but some have found the eternal joy of Jesus Christ! Thanks to Compassion International and other christian organizations working to help bring third-world countries out of poverty, they've been shown the truth of God's word, and have been given Bibles, and other resources.

You can help these people! You can be the one who turns their life around. Why can't you sacrifice $1 every day to help people who have nothing out of poverty?

Proverbs 28:27

The one who gives to the poor
will not be in need,
but one who turns his eyes away
will receive many curses.

Even though we give all that we have we'll never be in need! The Lord will take care of and provide for "the one who gives to the poor".

We have nothing to fear! But the one who turns his eyes away as if they weren't there will "receive many curses". Give freely and the Lord will provide for you!

Water For Hope - A Cooperative Baptist Fellowship Initiative

Water For Hope helps the people in Ethiopia by fixing up wells, and providing safe drinking water. Without access to safe water, people afflicted with HIV/AIDS, malaria, and other diseases are at a great disadvantage of fighting the diseases because they are already weakened by being exposed to water borne diseases.

Help these people and all the others who are dying because of unsafe drinking water. To donate go to: www.thefellowship.info
