What was just a girl outing at our youth group turned into something a lot bigger. Only 9 girls came but God used us as His army. He can use even the youngest Christians to make an impact.
We were sitting at Starbucks enjoying frappuccinos and having a great time talking to one another when we spotted a family on the side of the road. The dad had lost his job and he had some kids. We pooled some money and we ran over there. I asked if I could pray for them and they gladly accepted.
We prayed, gave them the money, and one of my friends gave them a *Matthew Bag. The children (older maybe 10+) were crying.
If we can gather up the strength to cross that busy road we can make an impact, an impact bigger than what we could ever imagine.
Through Christ we can doge the speeding distractions and temptations passing by, the road is hard, but in the end we can set an example for people. We will be in a better place than the people who took the side walk and ignored what we, as Christians, are called to do.
Please pray for that family, that they would come to Christ, that they would be blessed, and the dad would get another job.
* A Matthew Bag is what my friend sells to people to give to poor people. It has non-perishable items in it as well as tracks.
